So, now not everybody has to read McLuhan, sure, but if writers, admen, television producers read him, and act upon some of his insights, that touches everybody. But the thing with McLuhan, and this is why there’s the current distraction, and everything like that, and it’s part of what he’s talking about—he’s a victim of his own theories, as well as the creator of them you know—is the fact that the time span which in Freud would have gone over 10, 15, 20, 40 years, is now happening to this guy in 18 months.”
