“Anyway, audience participation can mean many things. You remember in the old quiz shows the audience was browned off when it discovered that the shows had been rigged, and they had really been left out. There was nothing dishonest about rigging quiz shows any more than there is about rigging a movie and making it look different from what a real-life situation might. But it was a misuse of the medium of TV, which calls for much participation.”
